ROLE DESCRIPTION

JOB PURPOSE

 

  to own and promote the iAP functional planning processes and ensure significant advantage to the business through adoption of iAP initiatives and compliance with its process requirements

  to promote the integrated nature of the iAP approach and to encourage behaviours within functional groups that will lead to the recognition and development of inter-functional and business wide opportunities

  to facilitate in the decision making process by providing iAP functional planning process knowledge and expertise when inter-functional and business wide opportunities are being assessed

  to identify opportunities within the business to further develop and improve the effectiveness of the iAP approach. These developments in turn to support and hence the effectiveness of the functions that iAP functional planning serves.

Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries:

 

The Integrated Activity Planning Section serves as a functional service provider within an Asset-based Operations Organization providing general work activity planning and schedule control and monitoring services.  The Section Head is reporting to the Integrated Activity Planning Manager and required to interact with all Departments in the Operations Group.  Working interfaces are also maintained with Departments outside of Operations in PMT, Subsurface, Production Planning, Materials and Procurement, and Administration.

Communications and Working Relationships:

 

     Leadership position that requires the ability to develop and communicate direction for a multidisciplinary, diverse group of professionals.  Required to communicate and translate management direction and expectations into sound working plans.

     Required to work with, and be familiar with, Operating practices and procedures within the Operations Group.

     Prepare presentation in regular communication meeting with operations IAP Manager and other Operations Asset Mnagers on business related short and long term plans. Participates in presentations and meetings as required by the IAP Manager and must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

     Establishes procedures within broad Company policies and guiding principles.  Work requires analytical, interpretative, and conceptual thinking with a significant degree of business judgement.

     Ability to be creative in dealing with unusual situations and problems to effectively utilize judgement and experience in providing solutions and potential options.

     Capable of understanding the implications of recommendations on all aspects of the business.

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:

 

     The role of this position is in leadership, coordination, and communication both with members of the IAP Team and with key internal and external interfaces.

     Provides recommendations, and support to the Operations Departments/Assets Managers thru the Integrated Activity Planning Section to achieve desired goals and objectives.

     Makes recommendations based on detailed analysis of risks and rewards pertaining to the Operations Group Business and Activity Plans.

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

 

     Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Certification in Planning and Project Management is an advantage.

     Minimum 15 years multi-discipline experience in the oil and gas industry with special emphasis on operational planning activities and budget control, and at least 10 years at the supervisory level in the various departments of Operations, Process, Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Projects.

     Computer literate with a good knowledge of business software applications and SAP systems.

     Good written and oral communication skills in English.

     Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work as Team Leader and mentor.

     Good adaptability to multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
