ROLE DESCRIPTION

 

Key Result Areas:

       Subsea Inspection :

Coordinate tendering activities for subsea inspection services; Prepare technical scopes of work in cooperation with other RasGas business groups & departments, Assist in preparation of ITT packages, Perform tender evaluations and Award recommendation.

Coordinate & Supervise subsea inspection work and data collection by Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Diving and Offshore High Resolution Geophysical & Hydrographic surveys. Assist in Mobilisation & Demobilisation activities.  

Prepare inspection procedures, work drawings and data sheets as required by program owners.

Analysis of collected data and definition of technical queries to SMEs as needed.

Site attendence during critical inspection phases on board variety of support vessels as & when required. Witness onboard calibration of inspection equipment & devices.

Ensure the accuracy, quality and validity of online inspection data recording, eventing, processing and reporting e.g. real-time video, offline video review & data editing, Cathodic Protection data, NDTs, photography, field measurement, etc.

Review and endorse reports e.g. daily progress report, draft & final inspection reports. 

       Offshore Integrity Management Database (Structures/Pipelines): Prepare subsea inspection data in suitable format for population into database software.

       Subsea Repair & Intervention: Assist in preparation of subsea repair & intervention work packages. Coordinate with internal & external parties for smooth & safe execution.

       Coordination with Internal & External Organisations:  Liaise with internal (e.g Offshore Asset, Marine Dept, EHS) & external parties (e.g. Qatar Petroleum, other field operators, port authorities etc)  on various operational issues e.g. permits & approvals,  marine safety, logistics etc.

Coordinate & Supervise subsea inspection work and data collection for Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Diving and Offshore High Resolution Geophysical & Hydrographic surveys. Assist in Mobilisation & Demobilisation activities. 

 


 

 

Key Result Areas (cont):

       Marine Facilities :

Provide technical support and troubleshooting advice to Maintenance and Operations for all RasGas Operated or shared Marine facilities (e.g. Offshore SPM condensate loading systems, Subsea loading lines and PLEMs, Onshore tanker loading systems).

Develop inspection programmes for Offshore and Onshore marine systems (eg floating hoses and fendering systems)

In collaboration with the Rasgas and RLTO Operations and Maintenance departments, develop planned preventive maintenance programmes for Offshore and Onshore marine systems

RGEE: Develops and implements the Quality Management System and Procedure in line with company Quality Plan.

       EHS: Ensures EHS compliance in the implementation of Safe Production procedures & guidelines during  work campaigns.

       Technological Update: Keeps abreast of latest international technological developments in the area of offshore facilities and pipeline engineering.

 

Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries:

Offshore Asset that currently includes all existing pipelines & jacket structures

Offsites Asset that currently includes onshore tanker loading systems and Offshore SPM

Responsible for safe execution of subsea inspection to deliver a safe, reliable and uninterrupted gas supply to the LNG plant.

Responsible for comprehensive monitoring of marine facilities and close liaison with Operations and Maintenance to ensure that agreed Planned Preventive Maintenance programmes are carried out

Operations are carried out according to the safe Production Procedures and Environmental guidelines.

 

Communications and Working Relationships:

Frequent communication with Offshore, Offsites, Marine and Commercial & Shippings Interface Dept for  planning and execution of subsea inspection work, marine systems maintenance and RLTO shared facilities business

Routine interface with Head of Operations, OIM and Operations Superintendent for familiarity with daily activities on Offshore facilities

Routine interface with Offsites and RLTO Head of Operations and RasGas Maintenance Dept for familiarity with daily activities on Offsites facilities

Frequent interaction with Unit Engineers, EHS, Civil Engineering, Integrity Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Logistics, Finance, Integrated Activity Planning, Business Controls, CMMS, Contracts Dept., etc. in the planning & execution of work programmes.

Frequent external contacts with Specialist Vendors, Contractors and Service Providers to discuss and resolve the specific operational & maintenance problems and cost effective solutions.

 

 

 

Problem Solving/Complexity:

Position demands a regular interface with Offshore Operations, Offsites, RLTO, Engineering, and D&Cs Marine Department.

 

 


 

 

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:

The Senior Marine Engineer has the primary responsibility to acquire, process, and report inspection data and to ensure that the highest standards are applied at all times together with the application of full quality control. This approach will be adopted with regard to activities including online eventing, video review, data checking and reporting.  

Works in accordance with the Company Plan, Policies and Procedures, Guidelines from the Head of Corrosion Engineering and Consultation with offshore asset manager.  Position is an active participant  of the Offshore Asset Team.

Decisions made have a significant impact on the timely delivery of gas to the onshore Plant and a consequent impact on the LNG supply to the Customers. 

Authorized to take Financial Decisions within the Company Policy and approved Department Budget.

Responsible for tracking and monitoring the expenditure made under specific Structures & Pipeline and Marine Systems Cost Centres under the SAP and Finance Module.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

      Hold a qualification in a relevant Bachelors degree in engineering or science subject,

      3.4u CSWIP certification, with Minimum 8 Years of diversified experience in subsea inspection, maintenance and engineering in the oil and gas sector.

      Well versed with Marine Industry Practices e.g. IMCA

      Well versed in Onshore and Offshore tanker loading systems

      Offshore experience in supporting majority of the following: 

                 air and saturation diving work

                 Underwater NDT Techniques

                 ROV structural inspection

                 ROV pipeline survey

                  Pipeline Surveys with acoustics, magnetic and electrical techniques e.g. Side Scan Sonar, Multi beams, magnetometer etc.

                 Cathodic Protection survey

                 Data processing for pipeline & structures survey

      Good leadership and adaptability to work in a multinational, multicultural environment.
