Job Specification


Job Purpose


·      Lead the job evaluation and job analyst team to provide the job design and job evaluation processes and services for the Company.


Reporting and Relationships

·       This position reports to the Head of Compensation & Policy.


·       Position supervises the Job Analyst and Senior HR Assistant.


·       Regular interaction with senior managers.


·        External contact with HR managers and consultants on best practice job design and benchmarking or roles.




 Job Context & Major Challenge(s)


 ·      Understanding the wide and diverse nature of work across the Company and applying knowledge of best practice job design and evaluation processes in complex organisation structures. As the expert on job design has the freedom to advise senior managers on job design.


·      Facilitating meetings with the differing views of senior managers and technical experts to achieve job design common outcomes.

Safety Health & Environment


·      Ensure   all   activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety, Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations and standards.

Qatarization Program

·      Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is a condition of employment for expatriate employees.


Firewall Compliance


·      Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti – trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.



Key Job Accountabilities


1.    Manage the job design process encompassing job analysis and job evaluation to ensure all permanent positions in the Company have current and evaluated job descriptions.

2.    Manage the Company Job Family Model process ensuring that the job families remain current and relevant.

3.    Develop and lead the job evaluation and job analyst team.

4.    Ensure Managers, Division Heads, and Supervisors are trained in job design and writing of job description as required.


5.    Chair Job Descriptions (JD) Review Panel Meetings and coordinate JD review panel training as required.

6.    Conduct job evaluations using the Hay job evaluation process.

7.    Ensure the Company policy and processes on job design are current and reflect Company practice.

8.    Ensure job size and salary structures remain aligned across the organisation by conducting regular reviews of organisational structure and job evaluation outcomes.

9.    Ensure the Company’s approach to job design and job evaluation remains current following best practice organisational design techniques.

10.  Provisionally classify temporary positions as required.

11.  Validate Group proposals for job reclassifications to ensure they are consistent and comply with Company and best practice organisational design principles.


Person Specification – Minimum Requirements






·      Bachelor degree in HR Management, Business or Psychology.

·      Certified in Hay Job Analysis and Job Evaluation preferred.


Knowledge and/or Experience



·      8+ years HR generalist experience.

·      5+ years’ experience in job analysis and job evaluation

Technical and Business Skills

·      Good spread sheet skills, word processing skills and presentation skills.

·      Able to lead and facilitate meetings to achieve outcomes with people from all levels of the organisation.

·      Ability to lead and negotiate outcomes with senior staff.

·      Very high standard of written and spoken English.

·         All permanent positions have evaluated job descriptions

·         Job families remain current and relevant

·         Competent Job design team in place

·         Audits of salary grading system
